It's not dreary ol' Durand Lanes. The former bowling alley has been breathed new life and it's food -- GOOD food -- first!

The Tiger Shark Cafe is the brick-and-mortar establishment that Stephen and Melanie Pratt, owners of the popular HQ Vigilante Food Truck, have been dreaming about for years, and it's now officially open in Durand!

Tiger Shark Cafe is an All-American restaurant with a nostalgic 1940s Rosie the Riveter theme. All 22 oz. decorated "Bomb" shakes and flurries, and their hand-dipped ice cream coffee chillers, are topped with Murtle's Chocolates.

The Pratts' combined 18 years of service in the U.S. Army inspires the military-themed HQ Fun Bunker and Tiger Shark Cafe.

While some patrons may choose to simply come in to eat and then leave, there is much, much more to do in the Fun Bunker!

Bowling is back in Durand! Ten lanes are completely refurbished and open now. In the space where other lanes once were, and in other spaces throughout the Fun Bunker, are plans for new, engaging and interactive activities.

One of two escape rooms will open in the next 45 days. Ax throwing will arrive in the fall. The Skyzone, featuring outdoor activities like archery, corn hole and fowling, a football-bowling hybrid game, and more, will also be introduced down the road.

The Pratts' vision for Fun Bunker has always been a multi-venue family entertainment center. The opening of Fun Bunker and Tiger Shark Cafe represents the first of its kind in Shiawassee County.

Fun Bunker also has arcade games and party rooms, and is booking now for corporate events, birthday parties, teen social groups and other gatherings. Call 989-541-1166 or stop by 1006 N Saginaw Street. You'll also find Murtle's products and Sweets by Faith cupcakes to purchase. Both are Owosso-based confectioneries.

Fun Bunker and Tiger Shark Cafe is open Tuesday through Thursday from 11:30am to 9pm, Friday and Saturday from 11:30am to midnight, and on Sunday from 12pm to 6pm.

Tiger Shark Cafe is entertaining the possibility of future breakfast hours and would like to know if you'd like to come in for a bite to start your days. Be sure to let them know!

Some say it's long overdue, others rue the idea that the historic dam that once powered a grist mill along the banks of the Shiawassee River in Corunna will be but a memory.
