City of Corunna

The City of Corunna celebrates 150 years in 2019 and as part of the festivities, officials have asked Corunna students to redesign the city's current logo, seen above.  The present logo has been displayed on the city's website since its launch in 2005, and also appears on the city's Facebook page, among other places.

Seen in last Thursday's school announcements, "This is the year that the City of Corunna celebrates its 150th anniversary as a city. There will be many celebrations to commemorate this special event throughout the coming year. There is an opportunity for YOU to be part of the celebration by using your creativity. There are contests (with cash prizes) to re-design the City of Corunna logo, design a t-shirt for the 150th anniversary celebration, and to design a logo for a button that will used to promote the Sesquicentennial. Rules and more information are available outside the main office."

$200 is being offered for the winning design, but there's not a guarantee that the winning design will replace the city's existing logo.

The contest deadline is May 1st.

As part of our Corunna Sesquicentennial coverage, Corunna Now also went through a logo redesign of sorts.  However, our new look actually isn't new at all, as we've temporarily interpolated a logo from Corunna then; the logo used by The Corunna Journal, a newspaper serving the city in the year 1912.
