UPDATE: Joshua Rosebush is in custody.  Initial reports indicate Rosebush engaged in a shootout with police in Shiawassee County, and was hit.  At the same time there were reports of shots fired in the area of I-69 and Woodbury Rd. near Shaftsburg.  His condition is unknown.  Rosebush was sought in connection with an early morning shooting of a Saginaw Township police officer.  Story developing...

UPDATE: Police say Joshua Rosebush is the man believed to have shot a Saginaw Township Police Officer and are calling him armed & dangerous.

Rosebush was wanted in connection with a series of vehicle break-ins and thefts in Tuscola County before being stopped by the officer this morning.

Authorities said in a late morning news conference that the truck Rosebush was driving when he was stopped was stolen.  He fled, dumped that truck and stole another.  Police released that vehicle's information, (white Ford F250, AIS Construction decals) but it was soon recovered at the Corunna Road Home Depot in Flint.

Rosebush remains at large and is armed & dangerous.  Do not approach.  Call 855-MICH-TIP or 911 immediately.

Authorities have confirmed an officer was shot in the face during a traffic stop in Saginaw County. It happened at around 2am on Tuesday. That officer was taken to the hospital in critical condition, Saginaw Township Police Chief Don Pussehl told WEYI-TV, but is now stable.

The officer was able to radio in a description of the vehicle.

That vehicle was found abandoned later Tuesday morning not far from where the shooting occurred, in the area of Tittabawassee and Bay Road.

A manhunt for the shooter is underway.
