In late October, we took a trip down Beard Road to Sheriff Brian BeGole's house to explore the farm barn that he's spent the last six years building, with a little help from his friends. The barn is constructed of reclaimed lumber from old barns throughout Shiawassee County. In speaking with BeGole, as part of the first-ever Shiawassee Radio podcast, we learned that discovering and deconstructing old barns was as much a part of this adventure for BeGole as designing and building.

And then there's the decorating.

Alongside vintage signs and artifacts, in one upper section of the barn is a "BeGole for Judge" banner, paying homage to BeGole's father, who served Shiawassee county as a Judge in 66th District Court for more than a decade.

The project isn't quite complete. BeGole is still finishing a deck on one side of the barn, but we couldn't wait to get out and see it.

Now, you get to see it too.
