CORUNNA COUPLE ARRESTED IN CHILD ABUSE CASE OF 6 MONTH OLD TWINS
Parents Jailed Following 6+ Month Investigation Involving Abuse of Infants
Shiawassee County Sheriff's Office
In May 2017 the Shiawassee County Detective Bureau opened an investigation in a suspected child abuse case of 6 month old twin babies. Detectives responded to Hurley Medical Center at the request of the Corunna Police Department for the suspected case of child abuse.
Both infants had sustained multiple fractures and one of the infants had an acute broken femur, which detectives believe was caused by the parents of the infants while in their care. This investigation has led to the arrest of the biological mother, Tiffany Marie Wilson, 26, of Corunna. She was charged on November 16th 2017 on two counts of first-degree child abuse. She has waived her preliminary examination and is bound over to 35th circuit court.
As the investigation continued, the infant's biological father, Thomas Mitchell Rowell, 29, also of Corunna, was arrested on December 12th 2017, on two counts of first-degree child abuse and one count of perjury. Rowell is awaiting his preliminary examination which is scheduled for January 2nd 2018. Both remain in custody and are lodged in Shiawassee
