Bookworms need to update their bookmarks!  Friends of the Corunna Library has a new Facebook page and they want you to find them and 'like' them.

Friends of the Corunna Library is volunteers that help raise money for the library for furniture, special programs, children's activities, books and other materials, and there are several upcoming fundraisers 'on the books.'

Mark your calendar for May 11th and 12th, the Friends' Spring Used Book & Bake Sale.  This event will happen at the library, and it'll be the perfect time to check out the Friends' new 'Three-Room Bookstore.'

When you enter the library building turn right and go down the little hall to the bookstore. Hours are Wednesday 12:00-5:00pm, Thursdays 6:00-8:00pm and Saturdays 10:00am-2:00pm. Although the bookstore has set hours, the kids' books and bundled books found in the lobby can be purchased whenever the library is open. Payment can be given to the librarian on duty. There are thousands of books including kids, youth, adult fiction, cookbooks, religious books, history, sports, gardening, poetry, etc.

If you haven't already done it, click here to join Friends of the Corunna Library on Facebook now!

The Shiawassee River is a full foot above flood stage.  The National Weather Service says the river crested at 8.1 feet on Thursday afternoon and should fall back below flood stage by Sunday.  In the meantime, Heritage Park at the Corunna Dam is under water and nearby homes are impacted by flooding as well.

Check out this video from Heritage Park on Thursday evening, thanks to Marci McManaman.
