SageLink Credit Union customers ran into problems with their cards on Tuesday afternoon when all customers' cards were deactivated in error as part of a rollout of new chip cards.  SageLink issued the following statement shortly after 7pm on Tuesday evening:

SageLink debit cards have all been reactivated. We apologize for any inconvenience that this has caused our members. Even though the EMV chip card conversion has had a rocky start, SageLink Credit Union would like to assure our members that chip cards are being introduced in their best interest. SageLink is always striving to ensure security and efficiency for our members. These new EMV chip cards add another level of security for our members by providing unique transaction codes for each “in-person” card transaction. EMV cards are already being used in many countries around the world and are proven to reduce “in-person” fraud. We sincerely thank you for your patience and understanding during this process.
