Announcing the Shiawassee County Bar Association’s Ninth Annual Free Legal Consultation Fair.  This event will take place Monday, May 1st, 2017, from 8-11:30 a.m. at the historic Shiawassee County Circuit Courthouse.  Local attorneys will be providing free 15-minute legal consultations in honor of Law Day, on the main floor of the old Courthouse in Corunna.  Have your legal questions answered free.  Consultations are offered on a first come, first serve basis.

President Dwight Eisenhower established the first Law Day in 1958 to mark the nation's commitment to the rule of law. In 1961, Congress issued a joint resolution designating May 1 as the official date for celebrating Law Day, which was subsequently codified (U.S. Code, Title 36, Section 113). Every president since then has issued a Law Day proclamation on May 1 to celebrate the nation's commitment to the rule of law.

The Bar Association wishes to thank the following attorneys for donating their time for free consultations:

Bob Ashley, Lynne Bowne, Richard Burlingame, Barb Dawes, Rob Ellis, Scott Gould, Pat Marutiak, Patricia McAvoy, Jennifer Peplinski, Curt Zaleski, Christina Walsh, Sarah Bouck
